We highly recommend using our templates and guides to prepare your print-ready PDF. | You can download our guides by clicking the guides button to the right. Remember to delete the template layers before exporting your design to PDF. If you have a design already, we accept other file formats, such as JPEG, PNG, or EPS. We recommend using specific file formats to ensure the best quality of your content. For photographic content, we suggest using high-resolution JPEGs without compression. For graphics or text-based content, we recommend using print-ready, vector-based PDFs. If your content combines graphics and photography, we suggest using print-ready PDFs to achieve the best possible quality.
Save your files in a print-ready format | Save your files in an uneditable print-ready format such as PDF, TIFF, JPG, EPS) Your files should be flattened to one layer, the background layer, prior to submission.
Use CMYK as the colour mode. | Make sure to use CMYK instead of RGB as the colour mode. Also, use the colour mode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are not sure about the colour mode of your file, don’t worry—we can always convert it for you. However, please keep in mind that converting the colour mode may cause the colours to appear differently from the original file. For larger black areas use Rich Black (C 63% M 52% Y 51% K 100%). Do not use those settings for text smaller than 15pt (use 100% black)
Add 3 mm bleed and keep 4 mm safety margin and 11mm for the wire (if applicable) | During production, there may be a slight cut deviation. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following: Add a 3mm bleed around all edges of your design. Keep essential elements 4 mm away from the edge or folding lines. Keep an 11mm margin at the top if designing for a wire-o calendar. Avoid using borders or frames. |
|
Ink coverage | Make sure that ink coverage is not more than 300%. Force Colour Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Colour Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK)
Resolution of at least 300 dpi. | Ensure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.
Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts. | Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving them in PDF format.
