Notepads Design Guidelines
We highly recommend using our templates and guides to prepare your print-ready PDF.
You can download our guides by clicking on the icon next to the file upload button once you have selected your product options. Remember to delete the template layers before exporting your design to PDF. If you have a design already, we accept other file formats, such as JPEG, PNG, or EPS. To ensure the best quality of your content, we recommend using specific file formats. For photographic content, we suggest using high-resolution JPEGs without compression. For graphics or text-based content, we recommend using print-ready, vector-based PDFs. If your content is a combination of graphics and photography, we suggest using print-ready PDFs to achieve the best possible quality.
Save your files in a print-ready format
Save your files in an uneditable print-ready format such as PDF, TIFF, JPG, EPS) Your files should be flattened to one layer, the background layer, before submission.
Use CMYK as the colour mode.
Make sure to use CMYK instead of RGB as the colour mode. Also, use the colour mode FOGRA39 (ISO Coated v2). If you are not sure about the colour mode of your file, don't worry—we can always convert it for you. However, please keep in mind that converting the colour mode may cause the colours to appear differently from the original file. For larger black areas use Rich Black (C 63% M 52% Y 51% K 100%). Do not use those settings for text smaller than 15pt (use 100% black)
Ink Coverage
Make sure that ink coverage is not more than 300%. Force Colour Images to CMYK with a 260% ink limit (in Photoshop > Convert Colour Profile > Photoshop 5 Default CMYK)
Add 3 mm bleed and keep 4 mm safety margin
During production, there may be a slight cut deviation. To avoid any issues, we recommend the following: Add a 3mm bleed around all edges of your design. Keep essential elements 4 mm away from the edge or folding lines. Avoid using borders or frames
Resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Ensure the resolution of the images and graphics in your artwork are at least 300 dpi.
Convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts.
Make sure you convert fonts to outlines or embed all the fonts when saving them in PDF format.
Font size
Fonts should be at least 6pt.
Check your artwork for overprint.
Ensure no elements in your artwork are set on overprint unless you want this effect in your design.
Lines and Text
Lines and Text should be at least .25pt (negative lines .5pt) Please note: Writing lines are not included in the notepads. If you require writing lines, they MUST be included in the artwork you supply.
